Revival in your town and city

2Ch 7:14 GW  However, if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves, pray, search for me, and turn from their evil ways, then I will hear their prayer from heaven, forgive their sins, and heal their country.

Col 1:28-29 GW  We spread the message about Christ as we instruct and teach everyone with all the wisdom there is. We want to present everyone as mature Christian people.  (29)  I work hard and struggle to do this while his mighty power works in me.

Mat 28:19-20 MKJV  Therefore go and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  (20)  teaching them to observe all things, whatever I commanded you. And, behold, I am with you all the days until the end of the world. Amen.

Act 2:40-47 MKJV  And with many other words he earnestly testified and exhorted, saying, Be saved from this perverse generation.  (41)  Then those who gladly received his word were baptized. And the same day there were added about three thousand souls.  (42)  And they were continuing steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine, and in fellowship and in the breaking of the loaves, and in prayers.  (43)  And fear came on every soul. And many wonders and miracles took place through the apostles.  (44)  And all who believed were together and had all things common.  (45)  And they sold their possessions and goods and distributed them to all, according as anyone had need.  (46)  And continuing with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they shared food with gladness and simplicity of heart,  (47)  praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.

In this series Revival -we ask the following questions.
  1. What is revival
  2. What is the characteristics of revival
  3. What does the bible say about revival
  4. What can I do to be used by God
  5. How can I be grounded in the Word of God
  6. How important is prayer with regards to revival

What is success

Pro 16:3 GNB  Ask the LORD to bless your plans, and you will be successful in carrying them out.

Pro 16:3 CEV  Share your plans with the LORD, and you will succeed.

Pro 16:3 MKJV  Roll your works upon Jehovah, and your thoughts shall be established.

2Ch 26:4-5 GW  He did what the LORD considered right, as his father Amaziah had done.  (5)  He dedicated his life to serving God in the days of Zechariah, who taught him to fear God. As long as he dedicated his life to serving the LORD, the LORD gave him success.

Ecc 10:10 GW  If an ax is blunt and the edge isn't sharpened, then one has to use more strength. But wisdom prepares the way for success.

Are Christian allowed to have success? A BIG yes !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They most important key to Christian success we find in Proverbs 16:3. Our works must line up with God's plan for our lives. If we dedicate our lives to God we will be successful. God's wisdom will make us successful in everything we do.

Christian Parenthood and Godly Children

Psa 127:3-4 GNB  Children are a gift from the LORD; they are a real blessing.  (4)  The sons a man has when he is young are like arrows in a soldier's hand.

Mat 21:15 GNB  The chief priests and the teachers of the Law became angry when they saw the wonderful things he was doing and the children shouting in the Temple, "Praise to David's Son!"

Mar 10:13-16 GNB  Some people brought children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples scolded the people.  (14)  When Jesus noticed this, he was angry and said to his disciples, "Let the children come to me, and do not stop them, because the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these.  (15)  I assure you that whoever does not receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it."  (16)  Then he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on each of them, and blessed them.

Pro 22:6 GNB  Teach children how they should live, and they will remember it all their life.

Eph 6:4 GNB  Parents, do not treat your children in such a way as to make them angry. Instead, raise them with Christian discipline and instruction.

It is very clear from these verses that children can serve the Lord the same way as an adult. It is the job of a parent to teach children the Bible and how to practically apply it in their every day life. We should bring children to Jesus by teaching them the Word of God.

This series we call Christian parenthood and Godly children

Love in action

Rom 12:9-12 GW  Love sincerely. Hate evil. Hold on to what is good.  (10)  Be devoted to each other like a loving family. Excel in showing respect for each other.  (11)  Don't be lazy in showing your devotion. Use your energy to serve the Lord.  (12)  Be happy in your confidence, be patient in trouble, and pray continually.

1Pe 4:8-10 GW  Above all, love each other warmly, because love covers many sins.  (9)  Welcome each other as guests without complaining.  (10)  Each of you as a good manager must use the gift that God has given you to serve others.

1Jn 4:8 GW  The person who doesn't love doesn't know God, because God is love.

Joh 3:16 GW  God loved the world this way: He gave his only Son so that everyone who believes in him will not die but will have eternal life.

Mat 9:35-38 MKJV  And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.  (36)  But seeing the crowds, He was moved with compassion on them, because they were tired and scattered like sheep having no shepherd.  (37)  Then He said to His disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few.  (38)  Therefore pray to the Lord of the harvest that He will send out laborers into His harvest.

God loved us so much that He gave us His only Son. His Son, Jesus, died so that we can have eternal life.
Jesus was moved with compassion when He saw the lost. And His prayer was that we, the laborers, must go into the world and reap a harvest of souls. We do this by leading people to Jesus and disciple them.

Mar 16:15-20 MKJV  And He said to them, Go into all the world, proclaim the gospel to all the creation.  (16)  He who believes and is baptized will be saved, but he who does not believe will be condemned.  (17)  And miraculous signs will follow to those believing these things: in My name they will cast out demons; they will speak new tongues;  (18)  they will take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it will not hurt them. They will lay hands on the sick, and they will be well.  (19)  Then indeed, after speaking to them, the Lord was taken up into Heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.  (20)  And going out, they proclaimed everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the Word by miraculous signs following. Amen.

From these verses we can clearly see that we must go into the world and reflect the love of God to all the world.

This series I call Love in Action.

The joy of the Lord is my strength

Neh 8:10 MKJV  Then he said to them, Go eat the fat and drink the sweet, and send portions to him for whom nothing is prepared. For this day is holy to our LORD. And do not be sorry, for the joy of Jehovah is your strength.

Neh 8:10 CEV  Nehemiah told the people, "Enjoy your good food and wine and share some with those who didn't have anything to bring. Don't be sad! This is a special day for the LORD, and he will make you happy and strong."

Neh 8:10 GNB  Now go home and have a feast. Share your food and wine with those who don't have enough. Today is holy to our Lord, so don't be sad. The joy that the LORD gives you will make you strong."

Psa 28:6-9 MKJV  Blessed is Jehovah, because He has heard the voice of my prayers.  (7)  Jehovah is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoices; and with my song I will praise Him.  (8)  Jehovah is a strength to them, and He is the saving strength of His anointed.  (9)  Save Your people, and bless Your inheritance; feed them also, and lift them up forever.

Psa 28:7-9 GW  The LORD is my strength and my shield. My heart trusted him, so I received help. My heart is triumphant; I give thanks to him with my song.  (8)  The LORD is the strength of his people and a fortress for the victory of his Messiah.  (9)  Save your people, and bless those who belong to you. Be their shepherd, and carry them forever.

Pro 17:22 GW  A joyful heart is good medicine, but depression drains one's strength.

Joe 2:23 GW  People of Zion, be glad and find joy in the LORD your God. The LORD has given you the Teacher of Righteousness. He has sent the autumn rain and the spring rain as before.

Joe 2:23 ESV  "Be glad, O children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God, for he has given the early rain for your vindication; he has poured down for you abundant rain, the early and the latter rain, as before.

Php 4:4 MKJV  Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I say, Rejoice!

Php 4:4 GW  Always be joyful in the Lord! I'll say it again: Be joyful!

I love these verses. It teaches us that we can have joy and that the joy in the Lord is our strength.
It even teaches us that God's joy is like good medicine. This is so awesome. God is a good God and He is our shepherd. He wants us to have joy. He even commands us to REJOICE.

All the above verses tell us clearly that sorrow can never be the end result for our emotions. We might go through storms. We might go through times of loss. It is a BIG temptation for us to bow down to sorrow. But if you bow down to sorrow you can not REJOICE. Can we sorrow for a moment. YES. But never bow down to sorrow, depression and fear. REJOICE is a commandment from GOD.

Intimacy with God

Jas 4:8 MKJV  Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, sinners; and purify your hearts, double-minded ones.

Jas 4:8 CEV  Come near to God, and he will come near to you. Clean up your lives, you sinners. Purify your hearts, you people who can't make up your mind.

Jer 33:3 GW  Call to me, and I will answer you. I will tell you great and mysterious things that you do not know.

Mar 1:35 GW  In the morning, long before sunrise, Jesus went to a place where he could be alone to pray.

Psa 5:3 GW  In the morning, O LORD, hear my voice. In the morning I lay my needs in front of you, and I wait.

The question that so many Christians have and ask is how do i connect with God? Can I talk to God? Is it possible for me to have an intimate relationship with God?

In this series I ask these questions and answer them with a big YES. God wants us to have fellowship with Him.

He desire to have an intimate relationship with us.

Mat 10:29-31 CEV  Aren't two sparrows sold for only a penny? But your Father knows when any one of them falls to the ground.  (30)  Even the hairs on your head are counted.  (31)  So don't be afraid! You are worth much more than many sparrows.

God is very, very, very obsessed with us. He even knows how many hairs we have.

Jer 1:5 GNB  "I chose you before I gave you life, and before you were born I selected you to be a prophet to the nations."

He chose us before we where are even born. This is how much He wants intimacy with us.

Who am I

2Co 5:17 GW  Whoever is a believer in Christ is a new creation. The old way of living has disappeared. A new way of living has come into existence.

1Pe 2:9-10 GW  However, you are chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, people who belong to God. You were chosen to tell about the excellent qualities of God, who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.  (10)  Once you were not God's people, but now you are. Once you were not shown mercy, but now you have been shown mercy.

Rom 8:16-18 BBE  The Spirit is witness with our spirit that we are children of God:  (17)  And if we are children, we have a right to a part in the heritage; a part in the things of God, together with Christ; so that if we have a part in his pain, we will in the same way have a part in his glory.  (18)  I am of the opinion that there is no comparison between the pain of this present time and the glory which we will see in the future.

Eph 2:10 MKJV  For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to good works, which God has before ordained that we should walk in them.

From these verses we can clearly see that we where created by God and that He created us GOOD. With no mistakes of any kind. He called and and He chose us. This is so amazing. He created us to work in His Kingdom. This is how much He trust what He created in us. We are His children and co heirs with Jesus. We are a new creation and the darkness that we where and where in , are all gone.

In this series I look at who we are in Christ Jesus. I look at different examples that the Bible use and say that we are. This will give you a practical approach to the subject of who we are in Christ Jesus.

The Goodness of God

Is God good? The answer to this question is always a BIG yes.

Psa 25:8-9 GW  The LORD is good and decent. That is why he teaches sinners the way they should live.  (9)  He leads humble people to do what is right, and he teaches them his way.

Nah 1:7 GNB  The LORD is good; he protects his people in times of trouble; he takes care of those who turn to him.

Rom 2:4 GNB  Or perhaps you despise his great kindness, tolerance, and patience. Surely you know that God is kind, because he is trying to lead you to repent.

Psa 23:6 GNB  I know that Your goodness and love will be with me all my life; and your house will be my home as long as I live.

Psa 31:19 CEV  You are wonderful, and while everyone watches, you store up blessings for all who honor and trust you.

Does God want us to receive good things? The answer to this is always a BIG yes.

Act 14:17 CEV  But He showed that He was there by the good things He did. God sends rain from heaven and makes your crops grow. He gives food to you and makes your hearts glad.

Psa 68:9-10 CEV  When your land was thirsty, You sent showers to refresh it.  (10)  Your people settled there, and You were generous to everyone in need.

2Th 1:11 GW  With this in mind, we always pray that our God will make you worthy of his call. We also pray that through his power he will help you accomplish every good desire and help you do everything your faith produces.

Joh 10:9-11 GW  I am the gate. Those who enter the sheep pen through me will be saved. They will go in and out of the sheep pen and find food.  (10)  A thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy. But I came so that my sheep will have life and so that they will have everything they need.  (11)  "I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives his life for the sheep.

Jas 1:17-20 GW  Every good present and every perfect gift comes from above, from the Father who made the sun, moon, and stars. The Father doesn't change like the shifting shadows produced by the sun and the moon.  (18)  God decided to give us life through the word of truth to make us his most important creatures.  (19)  Remember this, my dear brothers and sisters: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and should not get angry easily.  (20)  An angry person doesn't do what God approves of.

In this series we answers the following questions.
  1. Is God goodness automatic or must I position myself to receive His goodness

What does the Bible say about fashion

Joh 19:23-24 CEV  After the soldiers had nailed Jesus to the cross, they divided up his clothes into four parts, one for each of them. But his outer garment was made from a single piece of cloth, and it did not have any seams.  (24)  The soldiers said to each other, "Let's not rip it apart. We will gamble to see who gets it." This happened so that the Scriptures would come true, which say, "They divided up my clothes and gambled for my garments." The soldiers then did what they had decided.

Joh 19:23-24 GNB  After the soldiers had crucified Jesus, they took his clothes and divided them into four parts, one part for each soldier. They also took the robe, which was made of one piece of woven cloth without any seams in it.  (24)  The soldiers said to one another, "Let's not tear it; let's throw dice to see who will get it." This happened in order to make the scripture come true: "They divided my clothes among themselves and gambled for my robe." And this is what the soldiers did.

Gen 37:3 ESV  Now Israel loved Joseph more than any other of his sons, because he was the son of his old age. And he made him a robe of many colors.

Exo 28:40 ESV  "For Aaron's sons you shall make coats and sashes and caps. You shall make them for glory and beauty.

From these verses we can clearly see that fashion is very important in the Bible. God wants us to look good. We have a right to look good. In all the above verses the clothing was tailored made for the individual. From the below verse we can clearly see that the way you dress and look can identify your personality.

Mat 22:11-14 ESV  "But when the king came in to look at the guests, he saw there a man who had no wedding garment.  (12)  And he said to him, 'Friend, how did you get in here without a wedding garment?' And he was speechless.  (13)  Then the king said to the attendants, 'Bind him hand and foot and cast him into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.'  (14)  For many are called, but few are chosen."

Look at Joseph's response when he was called by Pharaoh. He dressed up and made himself presentable.

Gen 41:10-15 MKJV  Pharaoh was angry with his servants, and put me under guard in the chief of the executioner's house, me and the chief baker.  (11)  And we dreamed a dream one night, he and I. We dreamed each man according to the interpretation of his dream.  (12)  And there was there with us a young man, a Hebrew, a slave to the chief of the executioners. And we told him, and he interpreted our dreams to us. He interpreted to each man according to his dream.  (13)  And it happened, as he interpreted to us, so it was. He restored me to my office, and he hanged him.  (14)  Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph. And they hurried him out of the dungeon. And he shaved and changed his clothing, and came in to Pharaoh.  (15)  And Pharaoh said to Joseph, I have dreamed a dream, and none can interpret it. And I have heard it about you, saying, you can understand a dream to interpret it.

We all know people that are very vain and only focus on their fashion and beauty. This is wrong. We must look the best we can but we must have a relationship with God as well. The inner beauty is very important as well

1Pe 3:2-4 GW  Their husbands would see how pure and reverent their lives are.  (3)  Wives must not let their beauty be something external. Beauty doesn't come from hairstyles, gold jewelry, or clothes.  (4)  Rather, beauty is something internal that can't be destroyed. Beauty expresses itself in a gentle and quiet attitude which God considers precious.

So we must never loose the balance. We must have inner beauty but we must also do what we can to have outer beauty.

This series is call Fashion and the Bible

In this series I answer the following question
  1. Does the Bible talk about fashion
  2. Can I use a animal products to make clothes

How do we deal with sin

Mat 5:48 GNB  You must be perfect---just as your Father in heaven is perfect.

This is a BIG statement. God wants us to be perfect. This mean that we can come to a place where we can defeat sin in our lives. We have the power to defeat Satan and the temptation that Satan brings to us, Jesus gives us the greatest key. So how did Jesus overcome Satan?

Mat 4:1-11 MKJV  Then Jesus was led by the Spirit up into the wilderness, to be tempted by the Devil.  (2)  And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, He was afterwards hungry.  (3)  And when the tempter came to Him, he said, If You are the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.  (4)  But He answered and said, It is written, "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God."  (5)  Then the Devil took Him up into the holy city and set Him upon a pinnacle of the Temple.  (6)  And he said to Him, If you are the Son of God, cast yourself down. For it is written, "He shall give His angels charge concerning You, and in their hands they shall bear You up, lest at any time You dash Your foot against a stone."  (7)  Jesus said to him, It is written again, "You shall not tempt the Lord your God."  (8)  Again, the Devil took Him up into a very high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory.  (9)  And he said to Him, All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.  (10)  Then Jesus said to him, Go, Satan! For it is written, "You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve."  (11)  Then the Devil left him. And behold, angels came and ministered to Him.

So how did Jesus resist temptation? He stood on the word.

Rom 6:12-14 MKJV  Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts.  (13)  Do not yield your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but yield yourselves to God, as one alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.  (14)  For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under Law, but under grace.

From this verse we can see that we can get to a place where sin has zero dominion over you.

1Co 15:34 GNB  Come back to your right senses and stop your sinful ways. I declare to your shame that some of you do not know God.
1Co 15:34 GW  Come back to the right point of view, and stop sinning. Some people don't know anything about God. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

So stop sinning and come back to your senses. Sinning is 100% your choice. Get back to the right point of view. The only right point of view is the God's Word.

Joh 14:6 MKJV  Jesus said to him, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no one comes to the Father but by Me.

1Pe 2:21-25 CEV  After all, God chose you to suffer as you follow in the footsteps of Christ, who set an example by suffering for you.  (22)  Christ did not sin or ever tell a lie.  (23)  Although he was abused, he never tried to get even. And when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he had faith in God, who judges fairly.  (24)  Christ carried the burden of our sins. He was nailed to the cross, so that we would stop sinning and start living right. By his cuts and bruises you are healed.  (25)  You had wandered away like sheep. Now you have returned to the one who is your shepherd and protector.

Jesus set us free from sin by dying n the cross. If you except Jesus as your Lord, Shepherd and Protector you can have victory over sin.

In this series we answer the following question
  1. What is sin
  2. Can I have victory over sin
  3. How important is the Word of God in dealing with sin
  4. How importance if the friends that I have
  5. How importance is working in God's kingdom
