Helps and Ushers Ministry

1Co 12:27-31 MKJV  And you are the body of Christ, and members in part.  (28)  And God set some in the church, firstly, apostles; secondly, prophets; thirdly, teachers, then works of power, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, kinds of languages.  (29)  Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of power?  (30)  Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak languages? Do all interpret?  (31)  But zealously strive after the better gifts. And yet I show to you a more excellent way.

Num 11:16-17 MKJV  And Jehovah said to Moses, Gather to Me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom you know to be the elders of the people, and the officers over them. And bring them to the tabernacle of the congregation so that they may stand there with you.  (17)  And I will come down and talk with you there. And I will take of the spirit on you, and will put it on them, and they shall bear the burden of the people with you so that you do not bear it yourself alone.

Act 6:1-7 GNB  Some time later, as the number of disciples kept growing, there was a quarrel between the Greek-speaking Jews and the native Jews. The Greek-speaking Jews claimed that their widows were being neglected in the daily distribution of funds.  (2)  So the twelve apostles called the whole group of believers together and said, "It is not right for us to neglect the preaching of God's word in order to handle finances.  (3)  So then, friends, choose seven men among you who are known to be full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, and we will put them in charge of this matter.  (4)  We ourselves, then, will give our full time to prayer and the work of preaching."  (5)  The whole group was pleased with the apostles' proposal, so they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and the Holy Spirit, and Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolaus, a Gentile from Antioch who had earlier been converted to Judaism.  (6)  The group presented them to the apostles, who prayed and placed their hands on them.  (7)  And so the word of God continued to spread. The number of disciples in Jerusalem grew larger and larger, and a great number of priests accepted the faith.

Gal 6:2-3 GNB  Help carry one another's burdens, and in this way you will obey the law of Christ.  (3)  If you think you are something when you really are nothing, you are only deceiving yourself.

From these verses we can clearly see that your pastor can't run the church all on his own. He need help and this is where you and I come in. We are all called to do our part in the local church. We call this Helps and Ushers training.

  2. What is the difference between an employee, a servant and helps ministry
  3. Does the local church really need me
  4. What are the 3 types of helps a pastor requires
  5. Do I help with the right heart and motivation
  6. Will God increase you if you choose not to be faithful with the little
  7. Will God increase you if you are not faithful with another man’s ministry
  8. How can I help my pastor
  9. How can I help my church
  10. How can I help my cell leader
